Was very happy to see this event return this year, and even happier that we could be part of it.

Food for thought for everyone that attended, please take a moment to send all the sponsors an email and thank them for the donations and support, trust me, being on the receiving end of these emails leaves more of an impression then money in the cash drawer from a sale.

Yodave Products......your round of applause said it all, not only glad we can support it, but also that we can attend it.

I'd also like to thank Man-kay and Paul for the awesome pictures, that must be one helluva a filter on that camera to make me look so presentable and handsome......(my mom's words).....LOL

Thanks for having us, I got a good chuckle when I heard the chit chat on the line about who's this guy and why has he got so many flags??? I think once they got the name to go to the face it all made sense. Given the conditions I think everyone shot great and I'd really like to tilt my hat to that Mike guy that clenched 3rd overall, I don't think his feet planted back down on the ground until we arrived back on the island.

We'd love to attend again, given our crazy island shooting schedules we're unsure when just yet

Centerfire Discussions / brown box lapua brass

I was kind of taken today when the 220 russian brass I ordered today was the old brown box brass, we can burn u a week debating the quality control of that in the brown box versus that in the blue plastic box, however that's not my point.
My point is that some guys preferred this over the new brass, and for those people I recommend you head over to Tesro.ca's website and ask how much more they have in the brown box......

if you see one in canada then grab it, they will not ship to canada anymore. Grizzley no longer carries them and bullets.com will not ship or bill to a canadian address...

Okay, so the bad.....they are crudely machined, the threads are sloppy and the backlash is horrendous. while loosening the elevation lock you will witness the entire post and top lean to one side or the other, so much so that you have to guess how much to adjust the elevation because when you tighten the lock up the post will right itself and chances are you will now be to high, the threads on the post and the windage adjustment are crude and sloppy, and with the cable, well as you turn the handle first the cable has to take up the slack, then the top will move, a easy fix with a zap strap, at close to the $500 usd price tag they are and never will be a viable option in the shooting world..

the good.....at $169 USD on sale they are $13 better then a caldwell BR 1000 rest, however both entry level rests with lots of user unfriendly quirks

sadly there is no entry level decent front rests on the market, the Joe Cowan rest was the best you could get for under $300 8 years ago, sadly he is no longer making them, and the closer you get to the 1K mark the better off you are with a John lo front rest, true windage movement rather then sinclairs pilot type windage

Centerfire Discussions / 0.274 neck
« on: April 07, 2017, 10:24:04 PM »
okay.....I am going against the grain and had my barrel set back after just over 2000 rounds, fresh chamber was cut with a 0.274 no turn neck, loaded Russian brass gives me roughly 3 thou clearance.

fireforming load gave me less then stellar results, but I am pushing 68 grain Barts....and from my experience they like it hot...couple more grains then the Berger bullets and fire forming I couldn't get over 26.5 grains of N133 in the case...

So after fireforming and doing load development, my old barrel was holding in the 2's with a 10 thou jump, but the shape of the hole was weird...so going to play with bullet seating depth and add a tenth of powder.....

3 groove 14 twist benchmark barrel......damn thing is a shooter no matter what the neck diameter of the case.......

Do you know if that is the Panda F class action or just the standard panda action?
