Just a heads up to everyone the BRSC Nationals will be contested in Selkirk, MB the weekend of July 1/2. This will be the traditional 2-Gun Match consisting of Light Varmint and Heavy Varmint rifles shooting 5 shot groups at 100 and 200 yards. There will be a practice day on the Friday before the matches. We will have participation from shooters hailing from four provinces. It promises to be a hard fought affair, you better bring your good shooting iron and the special bullets and barrel you have been saving up for a big match. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Great to hear Phil. Hopefully you are dragging some other folks from Kenora. Looking like a really good turnout.

Congratulations to Phill the 2017 BRSC Champ.

Phill shot quietly and steadily all weekend and pulled off the win. I think all had a good time the weather was co operative. We all had a good chance to get caught up.

Yes congratulations Phil.  Slow and steady wins the race.  He is someone who always sneaks up on you at 200.

It was a race right until the end.  I thought Rick had it sewn up.

until

...............

Will post some pictures this evening when back home.

Great shoot all around. Phil Nick is the big winner. Top 4 in the 2-Gun under .010" of separation, so it was anyone's contest right to the end. Special thanks to all the out of town shooters we had, including Rob Maclennan who drove 23 hours to get to Selkirk.

Good news for 2018 is the Nationals are tentatively to be held at the Mission BC club with Rosebud Club as a backup location. Planned for the August long weekend in 2018.

Selkirk put on a great match, thanks for them for making the club available.

Selkirk ran a great shoot, and even the shooters helped out where needed.
Chelsy, thank you for running targets and scoring, great job.

I want to also thank the folks that traveled from a far.  BC, AB, MB and ON were represented.  Greg Mowatt (sp) from Grand Forks, BC and Rob Maclennan from southern ON.  Those folks made one heck of a trip to be with us in Selkirk.  Thank you for thinking of Selkirk.

To Grant Schick for updates to the backer system.  GREAT job. To those that also assisted Grant in setting up the backer.  Thanks.

Chelsea Schick for running the targets and scoring.  Must be tough being a new mom and spending the day with a bunch of old guys.  Thank you.

I felt things ran perfectly...... was the smoothest shoot that I have ever been a part of in Selkirk.

Despite my wanting to step away from this sport for a while I know I have met a lot of great people along the way who helped me get into the game or were just there to BS after the day was done.  Hope to see you soon.

Calvin
