Here are some pics for you guys.
Rifle I put togther for myself. I have discovered the 45-70 cal and really think the old timer is great.
There is no wonder in my mind why it has survived close to 140 years. In a Ruger you can make it do some wild things. Target shows 6 shots lowest being #2 (not paying attention to forend placement).
There are 5 more in the glob that measure about .520 as well as I can tell. Not bad for wheel weights eh??



 Barrel is a MacLennan 16 twist.
500 gr GC bullet from a Lee mould
Healthy dose of 2015BR

Nice gun Randy i have owned a dozen 45-70's over the years and still have 3. It is my all time favourite cal. You can use so many different load combinations for it and as your target shows get some great end results.

Ruger #3 45-70 , 500gr. of lead , 65gr. of ffg. low 40's on 100 yd. score target. Not enough nerve to try it at 200 yds.

randy good shooting. if i were you i would bring that puppy to the next score shoot in listowel give shoemaker a  run for his money. suitty
