Club Events / Mission - November 2023 Benchrest Score Shoot
« Last post by mdumont on November 05, 2023, 06:24:07 PM »
With the cooler weather we had a smaller than usual crowd of 5 shooters to compete in fair weather despite a pessimistic forecast.  Conditions were quite mild, although some challenges emerged (as usual) at 200 yards.

After a long absence, Denis Lapierre returned to show us all how it is done, winning both yardages and (of course) the Agg.  I guess only the experts show up in the winter, a mere 6 points separated the field at 200 yards.

With Pete away, Art and Vlad stepped in to run the targets.  Joe took our money and called the match while Art did the scoring.  Thanks to all who pitched in.

Next match is December 3, where we'll shoot Score again.  Hope to see you all there.

Centerfire Discussions / Re: Shade Tree Coax top modification

Excuse the 13 year delay but I just bought a Shadetree rest top and wish I had read your topic before. After reception, I installed it on my Sinclair base 3/4" shaft) which, I was told byShadetree would fit and it did. On,y problem; the top of the top wobbles and when trying to move the joystick up or down, the sides didn't move together, one side moved faster than the other.
I contacted the company and the told me to screw off the tension screws, remove the top and reinstall it on its Shadetree restop base. I did, nothing changed. I decided to screw the tension screws evenly till I felt about the same resistance and it worked BUT joystick was stiffer to move.
I have never bought something that didn't work and that the company tells you to disassemble part of it and reassemble it to make it work. On top of it, joystick is right under the rifle forend and parallel to it ! I am considering bending it so my left hand doesn't have to be right under the forend.
With the exchange and shipping it came up to over $600 CAD. Not impressed.

Club Events / Mission 22 Rimfire Benchrest - Monthly Match - October 28, 2023
« Last post by mdumont on October 29, 2023, 02:21:16 PM »
An even dozen shooters showed up to compete in the last match of the season.  Conditions were very mild, although the temperature was on the minus side!

We welcomed Dave back after a long absence, and he turned a credible performance despite the layoff!

Ken prevailed in Benchrest, followed closely by Mel, Cynthia and Paul.  Tim took Sporter and also got all 4 Best Targets in that division.

Thanks to Paul for organizing the match.  Thanks also to Derreck, Shawn and Mel who did the scoring and to Tim who organized the targets.

Hope to see you all again next year!

While was away in France competing in centerfire benchrest, Paul and the crew staged the usual September match.

I see that the Sporter shooters outnumbered the Benchrest shooters by a significant margin...

The results follow:
