Centerfire Discussions / Powder For 6ppc
« on: January 06, 2013, 09:54:27 AM »
I've got a new 6ppc rifle and am looking for powder choices.
With my last 6ppc I used VV N133.
Where do you buy your VV N133?
I am in Ontario
Is anyone loading with a more readily available powder and enjoying the results.
Thanks.

Centerfire Discussions / My 6ppc Adventure...Part Two
« on: March 30, 2010, 04:50:22 PM »
I had posted earlier on about waiting patiently for my 6ppc to be
ready at the gunsmiths and was asking lots of questions about loading for this round
and many of you graciously answered.
I received rifle a few weeks ago and I'm almost up and running.
I needed a bore guide and spoke with Mike Lucas, but he wouldn,t have a run ready till mid April.
Next step was to speak with TK Nolan.
No problem was his reply.I'll make you one up today and ship it out today.
Just send me the money.
"I trust you" he says.
Now I know the TK Nolan bore saver is a chunk of change, but you only live once
and when it arrived,I was very impressed.
TK is 71 and a little hard of hearing, but he's a pleasure to deal with and will talk as long as you have the time.
Next up,sent Walter Harrell some fired cases.
I should have die next week.
Walter is the same as TK.
A voice with a drawl and all the time in the world to talk.
I got 5 lbs. of N133 from Higginsons and a bucket of bullets from
Bill Mitchell,a custom bullet maker, not too far from my home.
I got a Wilson seater from Sinclair.
I've fireformed some of my brass and this weekend will start some actual testing of this rig.
It's going to be a nice warm weekend in Ontario...Yahoo!!!
I've got a lot to learn.
Thanks all for your advice and especially Calvin who took the time to
help me figure out how to load for the 6ppc and also how to  identify various genres of the Wasp species.
Here's a pic of Lil Red.

Centerfire Discussions / I Want To Go To The Super Shoot
« on: March 10, 2010, 05:11:36 PM »
I was ordering some parts from Sinclair today and the gentleman on the line was telling me about the upcoming Super Shoot in Canton Ohio.
I have never been to a BR competition and this one sounds good.
I'd love to spend a couple of days observing.
I live very close to Buffalo,NY and Canton seems pretty close.
I've done a google search, but haven,t come up with any info for this May 2010 match.
Any info greatly appreciated.

Centerfire Discussions / Reloading 6ppc..Advice Needed
« on: January 02, 2010, 08:14:57 AM »
Hello All,
My first post and a lot of questions.
I am currently putting together a 6ppc rifle for br shooting.
I'm new to 6ppc,so have some reloading questions.
I have an arbor press and a standard press to load on.
I've got the 6ppc cases necked down to .262.
The barrel I will be using is a Mclennan 13.5 twist.
I'm pretty well open on dies and bullets and any other tools I may need.
I was thinking trying the Berger 68gr.Match FB bullets to start with.
I've also used the Wilson Neck sizing and seating dies and was thinking of buying a pair of those.
Yes, I am a newbie and welcome all advice.
Thanks,
Derrick
