Not long until our Super Shoot. Looks like a good turnout. Last match of the year at Rosebud, so best make time for it! Be sure to see the Wasp Whisperer in action! Numerous out of town visitors expected! Flood waters have long since receded, no excuses not to come!
There will be a BBQ on Saturday night, sponsored by Hugh Williamson and Top Gun Coatings. Bring your own side dishes and drinks.
This is a BRSC registered match. You will need a membership in the BRSC, we will have these available at the match, $25.
Match fees are $15 for each aggregate, which works out to $60 for the weekend.
LV100 and HV100 on Saturday, we will rotate benches at the end of Saturday, then shoot HV200 and LV200 on Sunday. First shots at 9:00, break for lunch around 12:00 - 1:00, and hope to be done at about 5:00.
There is dry camping at the range. Competitors are welcome to show up a day or two early to camp and get some practice in. Anyone looking to do this should contact me in advance.
Map to the club is here:

Good news for all the competitors, the Rosebud Club has generously offered 5x $100 gas cards as prizes. One card to the winner of each aggregate, and one card to the Winner of the 2-Gun. Thanks to Rosebud for their ongoing support!
-
All the grass is mowed and the range ready, now for the wind to pick up and we can get shooting!
-
Reports on the local news are that that several BR shooters have been spotted on local highways, viewers are advised to maintain a strong vigil for ne'er-do-wells and miscreants.
-
Fantastic event, even though I had a front row seat for lightning striking a tree at 350yds away! Sad to see the season finishing up at Rosebud - next year will be even better!!
-
A fantastic event indeed and what a great turnout! I was pleased I had the chance to shoot with everyone at the last match of the Rosebud season. Congrats once again Hugh!

Results are below. Another great performance by Hugh Williamson. He showed the way by being very consistent the whole weekend. I think Hugh has won the last 2 if not 3 shoots. Well done Hugh. Very strong performances turned in by our out of town shooters, Joe Mendham (BC) and Cal Yanchycki (MB). Local shooters Dan Henderson and Lyle Turton also had very strong showings and kept Hugh on his toes the whole weekend.
New Rosebud Range Records were set by:
Cal Yanchycki - .2336" 200 yd. LV Agg.
Scott Stevens - .211" 200 yd HV Group.
Many thanks to our sponsors:
Dan Opel - Plenty O'Patches
Tony Gauthier - Korth and Leupold
Paul Ross
Top Gun Coatings
Of course it could not be possible without the volunteers, Marty (scoring) Noelette (targets). Many thanks!
We had a great BBQ sponsored by Top Gun Coatings on the Saturday. Hugh's son, Jordan, did the honours and we were pleased to have an future chef prepare the food! Thanks again!

What a great run shoot. Thanks to everyone who put there time and effort into it.
Oh and to mother nature for the downpour on Sunday and the DEAFENING claps of thunder. Some of us managed to get our groups off before the GUST of wind while others were not so lucky. Whew I was one of the lucky ones.
Special thanks to Dan for sharing Sue's chili with me and the YUMMY Brownies. My boyish figure held its own after all the cookies, brownies, burgers, pizza and wings.
Congrats to Hugh on some steady shooting and the win. Scott for breaking the record and his first screamer and to the Rosebud range for being kind to me...... LOL

I will clarify that I shot a different rifle on Sunday.
The one shot Sunday was my Smiley Face rifle. It is a BAT SB action, in a Robertson Speedy BRX stock, has a 45X Leupold, Bukys freezing and mount, Kreiger barrel, Beggs tuner. The load was 29.3gr of 133 topped by a 64.5 gr Opel bullet. This rifle I shot at the BRSC Nationals. It was working on Sunday. That is the best I ever shot at 200 and at Rosebud of all places.
If I could have 1 shot back, it would be the one I lost on the 4th target of the LV 200. The fourth shot. It cost me a BRSC Record. I was running the group and thought things may have been changing slightly but figured hell I have 2 shots left do not stop. The rifle seemed to be shooting thru those slight changes. The shot popped up out of the group. Never had any verticle all day. Damn 100 yard backstop............ and I am sticking to it.
-
Don't forget Cal you can always blame the backer. Stupid backer. >:( Though one of my best groups of the weekend, a .180", was shot when the backer jumped on my first shot which forced me to chase it and hold off in No-Mans-Land in a reverse for the remaining four. Go figure.
-
great shoot , thanks to Rick for organizing and to Nollete for setting targets, I have been very lucky competing this summer, new rifle from Wayne Campbell and shooting Dan Opel's " friendly" bullets are a big help. Hope to see even more people competing next year!
-
Pesky, we need to keep them there bullets quiet other wise everyone will want them. LOL
-
Just checked the equipment list - didn't know Dan's 65.5gr bullets would work in a 30PPC :o :o :o
Looks like that gunsmith named "self" has been busy!!
-
Wondered if anyone would catch that 30PPC!
-
Fat Bullets???
-
I've discovered that if you pluck Opel bullets from the backstop, they can be reused in a 30 cal barrel with surprising accuracy.
-
You guys are fire-forming bullets too... not just brass...
Man this game gets more complicated the more you learn...
-
if you shoot in the upper node, the case is so full that when you seat the bullet it compresses and fattens up to a 30 cal. its all the rage!
