I saw the rain thing as well Bill. Paul Ross touched one off at just the right (or for him wrong) time. He happened to have just gotten a sleeved 700 all done up just in time for the match. Well the bullet was quite a ways out of the group and the Gun was on the consignment rack at Russells on Monday. I saw the water spray and told him that it wasn't the gun, but it didn't matter. He had a Bat action before the 700 was even sold and spent the next few years kicking everyones butt! That was one of the first Bats at Rosebud and it was the main attraction at a match!
That is the interesting part of our sport. It is surprising how many things can go wrong while you are trying to put 5 shots in the same hole. We seem to remember the bad shot's as much as we remember the good shots.

I agree that it is not warm enough. Sunday was supposed to be warme, but it was cool and windy. Just couldn't stand to sit around looking at all that powder!

I'll do Calvins. I was attacked (or bitten) by a wasp and the venum effected my lip to the point I was bumping my gun with it.
Seriously though I have had a gravitational void effect my bullet flight at Rosebud on bench 14 200 yards and a north east wind!It had to be a lack of gravity because it hit an  inch higher than the rest of them.
Also my scope must be ****ed.
Actually the best I heard was from a fellow who will remain unnamed (came from Saskatchewan and is now a welder in Alberta) who said he shot poorly at the Nationals one year because he ate breakfast!

" Rather than simply missing a condition, one can admit to misjudging the necessary synaptic frequency for a particular shot "
But Bill wouldn't the shooter still be to blame?
I prefer to stick to alibi's that are mechanical in nature. From the amount of scopes I "fix" I believe most shooters prefer my alibi method.

How was it for accuracy at 54 clicks? My groups at 50 cl. and 52 cl. were quite similar. Wish I could have tried the 50 cl. with the bullet seated a little deeper. I started with the marks twice as long as deep and it really preffered them .005 deeper. Will play with it some more when I can be out there when the wind is a little lighter. Not much fun shooting when you are scared it will blow the gun  off the bench! Paul had his new gun out and I forgot to get pictures. The stock is the same color as my L.V. stock.

I read that and I think Beggs is right about the 1.2 between nodes. Yet I shoot the same load at Tacoma as here. Not that I have ever shot that well in Tacoma in a match, but testing for a couple of days before the match showed the tune to be perfect, so go figure!

Shot a few groups this morning, but wind got so strong I couldn't keep anything on the bench and ran out of heavy objects to hold down the light ones so gave up. Got to 30.4 gr. and was doing 3180 FPS no pressure signs, but would need to work at getting much more in the case. Had a little vertical in the groups but got it out with seating depth. Not really any better than most other powders I have used, but is very clean! Will test more when the weather warms up more.

There is a score match saturday June 12. It won't be a registered match so guys can shoot it without being a BRSC member. It is H.V. for score so a weight limit of 131/2 pounds. Registration will be at 8 am match starts at 9am.100 and 200 yds. No bench rotation. Would be a great way to get your feet wet!!!!!

The most important accessory you will need and hasn't been mentioned are wind flags. An absolute must have!

Yep, you can tell by the amount of hair! He got a hair cut once and I never recognized him.

Rosebud got targets here;
National Target
3958-D Dartmouth Court
Frederick, MD 21703
I imagine they do group as well as score. Just tell them you want IBS or NBRSA approved targets.

"3 rail guns (had 6 dont ask why as I dont even know)"
Yep and he sold me one of them at a hell of a deal. It has one of the best barrels I have ever had the pleasure of shooting. Jeff has good sh** and insists on making nothing on it!
I think the new Farley rest is a good one to look at. I have the previous model and am very happy with it, sure makes score shooting fun. Jeff are you going to come down to Rosebud for the one day score match? June 12, registration at 8 match at 9 100 & 200 H.V. I know it is a long drive for a one day match.

I learned the SINGLE SHOT TARGET RIFLE line the first time i crossed into the U.S. The American custom agent told his helper to check the serial number on my gun as I had a Bat Machine Gun in the trailer. I made sure I corrected him right away!!!! It has never been looked at since on either side of the border. Now about those cavity searches Bill.........

From some of the pictures it looked like it was blowing right in the shooters face. The benches looked wet all the way to the back end of them. Not something I would want to have to deal with!
