An Old-Timer gave me about two pounds of BR 28 powder. I have no load data for it but he told me it burns fairly fast, similar to 4198. The smell of this powder is intoxicating; it must be good for something. I have 200 new 22PPC-.100 Short cases that I need to fire-form this winter. Does anyone have load information that I could use for this powder for this purpose? Any information about this powder is appreciated. Maybe some of you used it in the 22 Waldog and could pass on that load information?

Why fertilizer????????? It CAN'T be any worse than the DYNAMITE that we had at the farm years ago that was LEAKING. It used to be stored in an old fridge in the barn. I went there looking for more electrical tape in the dark. Lighting was poor in the old barn. Opened the door and was feeling around inside the fridge. First thing I touched was SWEATY DYNAMITE. I closed the door GENTLY and walked away. Dad had enough bal++ to remove it and dispose of it. The caps were stored in the SAME fridge. :o :o :o

I spread that BR 28 on the lawn early this morning, the grass is looking greener already. If that Old-Timer has any more to give away I’m going to spread it on the rose garden.

Who made it and how long ago? Never heard of the stuff. I was bushed and never got out much........................ Matter of fact is is still that way :'( :'( :'(

My dad had some BR 28 and I used it in his 222 40X. It worked well, about like old H4198. That’s all I know about this powder. I’ve run across it twice in my life, but have never seen a reference to it in literature.

I received some of the original BR-28 from Bruce H back in the late 70's to test. We shot it in waldogs (-.125) then and it shot very good. You are correct in thinking it is similar to 4198. It is some of the cleanest powder ever developed simply because it doesn't have any graphite mixed in for a stabilizing agent. Be real careful with it because it will can up static electricity in it and could possibly ignite. While this never happened to me it was the warning I received from Hodgenson.
