Hope everyone going to the World Shoot has a safe trip and lots of success, especially Vera. I say this so that she can have a little payback of gloating all the way home and George havin to put up with it for once. :)
 Whatever happens enjoy your trip!

You have to see this range to believe it.

I imagine most will have already seen these, but for anyone that hasnt, photos are available at http://www.wbc11.com/en/the-range.html

I hear the baffles make it a challenging range for BR. Plus I dont think the bench line is permanent. Hopefully the competitors will give us some better pictures.

Yes good luck to all our Canadian Comrads in France.  Do us proud but most of all enjoy the moment.

Well I made it in about 6PM today. Really don't care to see the inside of an airplane or airport for a while! Anyhow the gang is all here. Dinner with the Canadian team and some liquid bonding. Everybody looking forward to getting going in the morning for a practice day. Pictures and intrepid reporting to follow from Bill Gammon.

Good practice day. Range was calm in the morning, breezy in the afternoon. Tall walls out to 100M will make things interesting. Very humid today.

Busy day today. It was our last practice day, everyone seems pleased with the way their rifles are working. Sorry no pictures today as I left the camera at the range.  It was a really nice day again, about 29C and light winds. Everyone is anxious to get under way. We start at 8am Tuesday morning. Apparently www.WBC11.com will have frequent updates on the scores. Follow the results link at the top of the home page.

YEHAWWWWWWWWWWWW.........

Vera Carter owned the men today as she just won the LV 100.  Her agg was a 4.912mm or better known in these parts as .193.

Way to go girl.  Congratulations.

Things got under way in earnest on Tuesday morning with the opening ceremonies followed by the 100M LV. It was another nice day, tep was around 29C most of the day, humidity was high as well. Winds were light but we have taken to calling the range the mixing bowl. So many small currents to keep track of. Vera handled it superbly and gave us all a beating. Today is 100M HV.

That is some AWESOME shooting by Jack. I did a bit of math via online conversion and come up with some interesting info. Jacks agg was a 4.064mm which converts to a .160. Beautiful teen agg.

I went to the World Benchrest Shooting Federation sight to see what the current record is. The current record on the website is a 4.45mm shot in 2007. On line conversion converts that to a .175 agg.

Depending what the Federations rules are for records is it possible we could have a new Federation Record????????

Regardless, the little I know about Jack it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. A man who is willing to share his thoughts on what strategies have or appear to work for him.

Weather was rain off and on today, but conditions were on the whole better and the aggs reflected it. Depending on the bench you were on though, you could still find yourself in the mixing bowl. Stretching out to 200m tomorrow. Should be interesting to see what effect the tall concrete walls have once the bullet passes the end of the wall at 100m.

Congrats to Vera on her top 10 finish in the 2 Gun as well.

To all the team Canada members, THANK YOU for representing Canadian Benchrest at the Worlds.  I look forward to hearing all kinds of stories and seeing some pictures.

Have a safe trip home and may we se you at a range soon.

Saturday is the fun shoot! 10 shot groups at 200. Considering how challenging things were with 5 shot groups, 10 should be a panic.

Vera was in top form. We are all very proud of her. Kudos to her for her 10th place in the 2-Gun!

That was a tough shoot by the looks of it. Vera did very well, a .231 aggregate in the 2 gun, wins the lv 100 and has a 215 aggregate in the hv aggregate and still finishes 10th overall, what a heartbreak!
Congratulations everyone and have a great time tomorrow. Don't forget to have some fun while you are out there!

Another fantastic performance by a Canadian to report! Bill Mitchell won the HV 200 Yd 10 shot agg, plus set a record for the smallest group. Closing ceremonies take place tonight.

Thanks for clarifying this Bill.  I just figured they would have converted it.

I see though what you are getting at.  You shot your record in the US right??????? at 200 yards, which is measured in inches.

So the WBSF is using to sets of records, Imperial/standard and metric.

Later,  Calvin

Oh and welcome home.

Bill, I am doing the math 42 + 32=74. Take that away and you still have enough room for your loading trailer. How did you sleep ? :)
So the army guys with the subs didn't stop to frisk you when they seen you walking around with your gun in your hand?
