Title: Selkirk 2013 Match dates

       BENCHREST  Dates  for 2013 as follows:
 
       May 04th and 05th  LV/HV
 
       June 29th and 30th   BRSC Canadian Nationals
 
       August 17th and 18th  LV/HV  Selkirk Bench Rest Shooters Provincials

The format will be the usual.  100 yards Saturday and 200 on Sunday.  Practice time is available on Friday if you so desire, Cal says so.  I will be there baring any unforseen circumstances.

Nearest accomodations are the Selkirk Inn and Conference Center.  If you want to camp there is a lot of room to park a trailer.  No real Hydro but you would have access to the clubhouse facilities.

Hope to see of you guys/gals there.

It appears we are just a little over 2 weeks away from the first shoot of the year.  Unfortunately as you all know the melt has not really begun.  I just got off of the phone with Mr. Benson and there is a PILE of snow under the lean to and at the firing line.  No grass to be seen anywhere.

Will the shoot go on?

That is yet to be determined.

Unfortunately we are going to have to play it day by day.  A decision will be made by April 29th.  I hope that is plenty of notice.

Does flooding from the river affect access to the range? With all that snow around I hear the river is expected to have a news worthy flood in the making!!

I "THINK" we will be o.k. for the May shoot, but we will keep everyone posted.As far as the river is

concerned, we are high and dry, mother nature just has to take all the snow she left us this past winter.It

is going slowly and we are monitoring it closely.

Heads up........................

Murray informs me that the May match will be a GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.  He says we are TOBANS.  A little bit of cool and snow never scared them away before.  The snow is melting slowly.  If the temps get as high as they are calling for this weekend there will be a big dent put into the remaining snow cover.

Anyone from the Calgary area attending the May 4,5 match? I was thinking about shooting in Tacoma that weekend but perhaps carpooling to Manitoba would be more enjoyable.

Just checked Environment Canada's website and they are calling for +9 on Friday, +17 on Saturday, +19 on Sunday, and sunny right through the weekend for our shoot on May 04th and May 05th. We look forward to our first match of the year.

I'm hoping the HV is in the afternoon as I may not make it there until later sat morn.  Can anyone confirm this for me?  Thanks., Jamie MacLeod

If so, yes it will be the usual.  Sat, LV in the AM, HV PM.  Sunday, HV in the AM and LV in the PM.
