Title: Update: New World Team Delegate
Post by: rpollock on November 30, 2014, 02:44:16 PM
As we approached 2015, Dave Abbott has decided to step down as the delegate representing Canada at the World Benchrest Shooting Federation (WBSF) http://www.world-benchrest.com/ I would like to take a minute to thanks Dave for his commitment to raising the profile of Canadian BR at the World level. Dave was instrumental in seeing Canada go to Austria, France, South Africa, and Australia. Hope I didn't miss any. As we all know, without volunteers there is no sport, so take a moment to thank Dave the next time you see him.

With that news, we needed a delegate for 2015 in St. Louis. Dave approached me to fill that position. I have agreed to take it on, to be followed by open nominations and a vote in St. Louis as the WBSF business is typically conducted every second year at each event. The WBSF has been notified of my new responsibilities with the team, and I look forward to working with my team mates to put the best possible foot forward in St. Louis.

Contact me at rickpollock@shaw.ca should you have any questions.

Rick

Thanks Dave! This kind of volunteer work is vital to keep things going but doesn't get much recognition.
Rick, your BR addiction is clearly in full force... looking forward to the worlds!!!

Congratulations Rick, jobs like these are usually thankless and take a bit of thick skin at times, but also can be rewarding in finding new friends and a better understanding of what it takes to be in these positions. I hope it goes well for you and that you also have a prosperous year in Benchrest.
Dave, I am not sure when I will see you next but I will say thanks for all you have done in the past several years.
