Centerfire Discussions / Re: Best PPC case forming techniques
« on: September 14, 2011, 04:23:00 PM »
I read that article too, and is similar to what I already do. I just wanted to see what everyone else thinks. There hasn't been much activity on the forum lately and figured I'd post some questions to get some feedback.
Are there any opinions concerning fire forming barrels?, ie set up, specs, etc..
Cheers

I'll have to keep an eye on you coyotes, & make sure you don't pull the exploding target prank you guys pulled on dad!! ( that was awesome by the way!!). I'm hoping to have it done & tuned in time for spring.

I have access to the Boyer ll 269" reamer also. But after a couple years of running my 6 BR with a 272" neck I'm a little tired of having having inconsistent neck tention. I'd rather have the more consistent bullet grip offered by a 263". Or at least give it the old college try   ;D
Are there any specific freebore/leade dimentions you guys have found that work better than others?

I'm building a new 6ppc for myself and wanted to poll you guys on what you recomend for 6ppc reamer specs.
I'm thinking of PT&G Boyer lll. 263" nk

Centerfire Discussions / Bedding Question
« on: October 06, 2010, 11:47:41 PM »
Are glue in bedding jobs on BR stocks necessary or is a proper pillar & glass enough to be competitive? Its seems to me that someone is always having a gun come unglued at the worst time.
Would a glue & pillar/glass be a better option?
I've bedded lots of stocks but haven't done a permanent glue in. I've read lots on glue in jobs, and am comfortable doing it, but it seems like a pain in the a#* having the gun glued in.
Any feedback would be appreciated

Off Topic / Re: rangemaster xr 100 223 rem

I've had one for around three years. It started out as a 22-250, shot like a hot dam, but after 600 rounds its accuracy went south. last year I rebarreled it with a Pac-Nor 28" 6mm 1:8 heavy palma in 6mmbr .272 nk 104fb and bedded it in a robertson/masterclass M1000 stock, GTR firing pin kit, shillen BR trigger and sinclair bolt stop and I installed a tactical bolt handle. I've recently cut the barrel down to 22" and my aggs shrunk dramatically. I'm thinking of rebarreling it with a hv barrel in 1:14 and a tighter neck in the near future.

cheers
