Take note we will be hosting the  BRSC Nationals Championships at Mission and District Rod and Gun on August 2-3.

Friday Aug. 1 is a practice day and we will be hosting the BRSC AGM at 3pm in the clubhouse.
Saturday Aug. 2nd is LV 100 in the morning and HV 100 in the afternoon.
Sunday Aug. 3rd will be HV 200 in the morning and LV 200 in the afternoon. Trophy presentation to follow the matches.

Camping for the practice day and matches is allowed, just let us know in advance if you plan to camp.  Also let us know if you need parking for a reloading trailer.

We would also like a head count so we can get things set up.  I'm assuming we will need 2 relays, so let us know about any flag sharing / bench buddy requirements.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

PLEASE NOTE:  The July 13th club shoot is CANCELLED.   The date conflicts with the Stampede Shootout in Calgary and a bunch of the local group are headed out there.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

We ended up with 14 shooters, including a welcome half dozen visiting us from the USA.

Conditions varied from quite mild to switchy, with winds running uprange but swapping to catch the unwary.

The competition was very tight, including an epic 5 way tie for second place at 200 yards.  I think this was resolved correctly!

With Joe away on a family matter, Art stepped in to call the line and help with targets as well as his usual scoring duties - He was a busy fellow!  Thanks also to Don who ran the targets.

Congratulations to Jeff Locke, who took the Grand Agg in his first appearance.  Fine shooting in tough competition!

Feel free to post any pics from the shoot to this thread, or pass them along to me and I'll handle it.

14 shooters showed up to compete in typical spring conditions with variable winds, gusty at times.  It's Cottonwood season, and the fluff sometimes passed for wind indicators.

Paul took Benchrest and Sporter while Derreck took Custom with the best overall score of the day.  We also welcomed Clem, we hope he will make our monthly matches a habit!

Thanks to Paul for organizing the match, and to Shawn and Mike for scoring.

Next match is June 28, hope to see a good turnout!

The course of fire will be 20 Score rounds at each of 100, 200 and 300 yards.  Bring 80 rounds or so if you preload.  Awards to third place at each yardage and the Jim Latham Perpetual Trophy to the winner of the Grand Agg.  Your chance for fame and glory!  We will shoot the 300 yard match first to allow for shot spotting in summer conditions,

This match has very few equipment rules - No muzzle brakes and no rail guns.  F-Open rifles are more than welcome!  Jim was always a fan of cross pollination in the shooting sports...

Safety meeting at 8:45, Match begins at 9:00 am sharp and we should be done by 4:00 pm or so.

$40 entry fee - Clubhouse cafeteria is open for lunch!

Pre registration is required, so please email me (markdumont750@gmail.com) or Joe (joemendham@telus.net) if you plan to attend and with any questions.

Club Events / Mission - May 2025 Benchrest Score Shoot
« on: May 04, 2025, 04:05:20 PM »
With a bunch of absences our May match attracted 6 shooters - Thanks to all who participated.

Weather was challenging from the beginning, with shifting winds and changing temperatures.

Art organized and ran the targets with help from Don.  Art also did the scoring while Joe called the line.  Thanks to all who pitched in.

Next match is our annual Jim Latham Memorial Match Sunday, June 1 where we will shoot Score at 100, 200 and 300 yards.  This match has a long tradition and we hope to see a good turnout!

13 shooters showed up to compete in typical spring conditions with variable winds, gusty at times.

Mark took Benchrest, Derreck took Custom and some guy named Paul took Sporter.  Notably, Derreck's Custom score would have scored him a second place finish in the open Benchrest class!

Thanks to Paul for organizing the match.  Scoring was a group affair, with Shawn, Mike, Derreck and Mel all pitching in.

Next match is May 24, hope to see a good turnout!

At last, the equipment list...

We were a little late with the forms, if any of the shooters have and corrections or additions, please email them and I'd be happy to add them.

We held this year's shoot in the usual changeable weather conditions, although this spring has been much colder than last year!  A few last minute cancellations left us with a thin field of only 12 shooters, and we shot 2 relays on a single backer frame.  As usual, practice and the 2 match days all provided very different conditions.

As usual, the scoring and target crews provided prompt and accurate service!

Thanks to all who participated, particularly our visitors from Vancouver Island, who made the ferry journey.

And finally, thanks to all the shooters who pitched in to help.  It was always easy to fine someone to lend a hand!

Equipment List to follow...

And the results:
Light Varmint 100 yards:

Heavy Varmint 100 yards:

Light Varmint 200 yards:

Heavy Varmint 200 yards:

13 shooters showed up to compete at our first match of the season.  Conditions were somewhat variable on an early spring day.

Paul took Benchrest and Sporter while Tim took Custom.  We also welcomed Don to our matches.  He recently came over from the Dark Side on Vancouver Island, and finished 3rd in the Benchrest class.  Art also shot with us after a long absence.  All this should make Benchrest more competitive!

Thanks to Paul for organizing the match.  Scoring was a group affair, with Shawn, Mike, Mel and Derrick all pitching in.

Next match is April 26, hope to see a good turnout!

As usual, this will be a "standard" 2-gun group shoot format, LV/HV at 100 and 200 yards.  We'll also have some benches reserved for practice on Friday, April 11.

You must be a BRSC member to participate, and guns must follow the BRSC/NBRSA rules for Light and Heavy Varmint.

We're trying to get a participants list together so we can arrange things - Please contact Mark DuMont (markdumont750@gmail.com) or Joe Mendham (joemendham@telus.net) to reserve your space or with any questions.

Hope to see you there!

Please note our December Score match has been moved to December 1 due to a scheduling conflict at the club.

Thanks

11 shooters showed up to compete during a gap between fall storms.  Despite unsettled skies, conditions were quite mild.

Paul took Sporter with the best agg of the day while Derreck took Custom with the second best agg of the day.  Benchrest class shooters need to pull up their socks!

Thanks to Paul for organizing the match.  Scoring was a group affair, with Shawn, Mike, Mel and Susan all pitching in.   Tim organized the scored targets.

This was our last match of the year, see you again next March!

Club Events / Mission - October 2024 Benchrest Group & Score at 300
« on: October 07, 2024, 01:29:00 PM »
This month, we held our combined Group and Score 300 yard match.  In this format, we hang both a Group and a 200 yard Score target at 300 yards.  You have 14 minutes to complete both targets, and we repeat the process 5 times for the complete match.

A good turnout of 10 shooters got beautiful fall weather and very mild conditions, although, as usual, conditions started to pick up as the morning went on.  We started at 10 degrees while we finished at close to 20.

With Pete away, Art handled the targets, Allan took our money and Joe called the match.  Thanks to all who pitched in!

Our next match is November 3rd, and we'll be back to shooting Group at 100 and 200 yards.

Because it is hard to compare Group and Score results, we adopt a scoring system where a shooter gets 1 point for each person with a lower score / group size in a particular match.  These scores are tallied and the one with the most points wins.

Here are the results:

12 shooters showed up to compete on a beautiful early fall morning.  Conditions were very benign.

Paul took Benchrest and Sporter while Mel took Custom.  The scores in Sporter have been steadily improving, and the top two scores in Sporter would have secured second place in the Benchrest class!

Thanks to Paul for organizing the match.  Scoring was a group affair, with Shawn, Mike, Mel and Derrick all pitching in.

Next match is October 26, our last match of the season.

Club Events / Mission - September 2024 Benchrest Score Shoot
« on: September 09, 2024, 02:36:32 PM »
Our September match attracted 9 shooters - Thanks to all who participated.

Weather Started dead calm, but winds were picking up by the time we got to the 200 yard event.

It was Art's day. taking both yardages and (obviously) the Agg.  Another notable occurrence - A mere 8 points separated all shooters at 200 yards!  Competition is definitely improving the breed!

Pete organized the targets and a number of other competitors pitched in to run them.  With Joe away, Art called the line and also did the scoring.  Thanks to all who pitched in.

Next match is October 6. where we'll shoot both Group and Score at 300 yards.

Club Events / Mission 22 Rimfire Benchrest - Monthly Match - August 24, 2024
« on: September 01, 2024, 09:21:36 PM »
11 hardy shooters showed up to compete on a west coast rainy day.  Despite the rain, the winds were quite mild.

Paul took Benchrest, Mel took Sporter and Derreck scored a victory in the single member Custom class.  Needless to say, Derreck also scored a clean sweep of the Best Targets for his class!  We need more Custom entries for next month...

Thanks to Paul for organizing the match.  Scoring was a group affair, with Shawn, Mike, Mel and Derrick all pitching in to hande the damp targets!

Next match is September 28, hoping for a good turnout!
