We received confirmation the dates for WBC-18 are 21-Aug-2027 to 28-Aug-2027.
        21-23 Practice days
        24-28 5 days of competition (100 and 200 meters)

The last day of competition will be 10 shots at 200 meters for the Walt Berger Legacy Trophy.

We are getting close to the end of Feb - which is the cutoff date for shooters declaring their interest to qualify for WBC 18 hosted by Luxembourg at the Volmerange France shooting range.

A couple of things about this qualifying year:
- at the last world team meeting it was decided to reduce the number of eligible grand aggregates to four (instead of 6 from previous years)
- at the last world team meeting the cap on maximum score per grand agg was removed
- if you have some interest in qualifying there is no cost so, its better to let me know and be in the running than regret it later
- funds were transferred to me for the World Team in the amount of $2,356.47 and nothing has been done with them to date however, it has generated just over $1 in interest so far :-)
- attached is the list of potential qualifiers to date...

Please consider this an invitation to qualify for the 2027 World Benchrest Team. Canada can send up to 3 teams of 4 shooters on each team for a total of 12 shooters. As of now I will start collecting the names of anyone who wants to get on the qualifying roster for 2027. Cutoff will be Feb 28, 2026 to indicate your interest. If interested send me an email indicating your desire to join the qualifying process. A tremendous thanks to Rick Pollock for the work he has put into making Canada's WBC process a solid and sustainable one. All aspects of this process have been managed with such a high degree of precision it has been such a benefit to our teams over the years. It will be a truly tough act to follow. Rick has stepped down as Canada's delegate and I will be taking his place for the upcoming WBC 18!

For WBC 18, technically Luxembourg is the host country but the range facility will be in France and quite likely we will fly in and out of France.
