There have been a number of requests for information about this match. So here you go:

This is a World Benchrest Shooting Federation (WBSF) sanctioned event: http://www.worldbenchrest.com/

The match is being hosted by the French Shooting Federation (FFTIR) https://www.fftir.org/

The actual range (CNTS) is here: https://cnts.fftir.org/ This is in very close proximity to the town of Chateauroux. About a 3 hr bus ride south of Paris.

For interest there are videos of the European Championships held at this range in 2022:  https://www.fftir.org/competitions/@reportage/cde-bench-rest-cnts-2022-photos-et-reportage/

I think the best place to see results will be here:  https://www.fftir.org/competitions/@reportage/cdm-wbsf-bench-rest-informations-pratiques/

A number of Facebook pages will likely have results posted as well if you want to look them up:
Benchrest Shooting and Gunsmithing (No Gun Sales Allowed)
WBC 16, France 2023
WBC XVI TEAM CANADA

Practice days are Sept 22-24, the match days run Sept 26-30. Attached below.

Feel free to add links to this post as you find results posted online.

About This Forum / New Rules for Posting Items For Sale
« on: September 13, 2023, 09:20:36 AM »
After about 14 years of running this forum someone has taken advantage of the good will around here. From now on anybody wishing to post items for sale that I don't personally know, or has just joined the forum, or has no other posts will be required to contact me through the forum or at rickpollock@shaw.ca to gain permission to list items for sale. Sad to say but this is the era we now live in.

Posting on behalf of Madeline:

It is that time of year again!  This year is special because the LFGA is celebrating the 100th year of serving the community so come on out to the 21st Annual Frank Leffingwell Memorial Shoot and join in the fun.  This year there should be in excess of $4,000.00 in prizes to be given away.(Dependent on the number of registrations).  Please remember it is first come, first served and there is no such thing as please count me in without the $$.  See you in August!!!!

Thanking you in advance and stay safe.

« on: May 28, 2023, 07:35:31 PM »
Sorry for the late posting but I want to acknowledge the Rocky Rod & Gun Club https://rockygunclub.com/ who graciously allowed the use of their range on May 13th to host a BR101 event. Many thanks to Eugene and Curtis for pulling this together. We had 10 students and 7 coaches attend. Weather was great, and the wind picked up as the day went on, and it provided for challenging conditions. A great day to share an introduction to the sport of Benchrest.

A few pictures below.

Yesterday Hugh Williamson, Wally Pollock and, myself went to the LFGA grand re-opening of their facility. This coincided with National Range Day and the 99th Anniversary of the founding of the Club. Check them out at: https://lfga.club/

Numerous renovations have taken place, notable for bench shooters is the extension of the Range #2 which is the Benchrest range. It now includes an expanded firing line and 16 concrete benches.

A big shoutout to Dave Fisher and his crew for the fine work they have done to make this possible.

Benchrest is alive and well in Lethbridge!

Rick

Club Events / BR101 Clinic at Rosebud Range May 14, 2022
« on: March 20, 2022, 09:24:24 PM »
The Rosebud Silhouette & Benchrest Club is pleased to announce it will hold a Benchrest 101 Clinic on May 14, 2022 at the club. This is our first chance to resume these clinics after having to cancel the 2020 and 2021 clinics, and are we ever glad to be back and offering this clinic.

This clinic provides an introduction to competitive Benchrest shooting. The focus will be on short range (100-200 yd) group shooting using center fire BR rifles.

This clinic will appeal to the accuracy enthusiast who is serious about entering the world of competitive BR shooting. The Clinic will provide the first step of many steps in learning to shoot BR at a regional, national and international level. The clinic is available to shooters who have not taken the clinic in previous years. You do not have to be a Rosebud member to attend.

The Clinic takes the better part of a full day, so you will need to plan accordingly. We will start at around 9:00 AM with part of the morning taken up in the clubhouse discussing the basics of Benchrest shooting, such as suitable cartridges, rifles, reloading, the match format, among many other topics. We will also use the morning to set up wind flags and bench rest equipment such as front rest and rear bags.

There will be a 30 minute lunch break and then in the afternoon there will be informal shooting instruction on the rifle range. Students will shoot using state of the art BR rifles and rests, wind flags, and all other associated equipment. This will also be a good time to see what cartridge reloading at the range is all about, and to see what how to keep clean a rifle bore to BR standards.

For this Clinic the coaches will supply the rifles and ammo, along with all the other equipment necessary to shoot a match. A coach will be assigned to each student. There is no need to bring your own rifle or sand bags etc., the coaches will provide that. Note the coaches are current and past members of the club who shoot at the Regional, National and World level. These folks have been there, done that and got the T-shirt so to speak.

All you need to do is bring your hearing protection, eye protection, lunch and refreshments. We expect to be done at about 4:00 PM.

Depending on availability of spare rifles, coaches etc we will likely limit this to about 20 shooters. I would recommend people sign up early.

To register please contact me at the e-mail below, or feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
