ORSA - Ontario Rifle Shooters Association / 2026 ORSA Shoot Schedule

We have 5 ORSA shoots scheduled for Elmira Rod & Gun this year. They are all group matches with the usual 2 day schedule. I will be taking preregister up until the WEDNESDAY before each shoot. BUT PLEASE BE WARNED if we have a declined number of shooters I will only run 1 relay so those sharing benches take note.
MAY 2/3 LV/HV
JUNE 27/28 LV/HV
JULY 25/26 LV/HV
AUG. 15/16 LV/HV
SEPT. 19/20 LV/HV
Registration available Friday after setup & 7.30 till 8.45 Sat. Sun. Shooting starts 9.00 . course of fire is SAT. LV 100 AM  HV 100 PM SUN. HV 200 AM LV 200 PM Awards to follow after cleanup on Sunday. Thanks to all for your support last year looking forward to the coming year. Elmira club are very appreciative of our support to the club.

I would like to wish all shooters in our shooting family a MERRY CHRISTMAS and the BEST IN THE NEW YEAR . Also on another subject to the ORSA shooters I have 5 shoot dates for coming year . But am waiting for them to be finalized on club calendar before I post them.

The Oct. 4/5 shoot is coming fast Just so everyone knows I will be taking preregistration for this shoot. Contact me at brian.shoemaker@wightman.ca . This is the last shoot of our shooting year it would be good to get a full attendance to this shoot to end on a positive note. This shoot will be the Swin Cup. I was also informed that Paul will not be helping us next year Many thanks to Paul for his help.      So I will continue to steer the ship with the help of Jeff how has been irreplacable the last couple years many thanks Jeff. Other than that nothing will change as per times and fees. Thats all for now looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple weeks.

For the Sept. shoot we will be down attendance do to the Worlds competition and the NBRSA nationals. So as Jeff stated we expect to fill the 1st relay and not have a relay 2 so plan accordingly . I will not be taking any preregistration this time. Aa for ant other news nothing is changing that I am aware of . Hope everyone has a good shoot.

Hello again everyone Once again a reminder of upcoming ORSA group shoot on the weekend of August 16/17.  As usual there are no great changes to our venue. Preregistration will be taken by me up until August 13th . As of now benches 2/3/4/5/6/7 are registered for. As most know Paul Connor and Jeff Doucette will be looking after the next 3 shoots . So your cooperation and help would be greatly appreciated . Both Paul and Jeff have done a outstanding job helping me running the shoots this year and last.

ORSA - Ontario Rifle Shooters Association / Upcoming ORSA SHOOT

The July 26/27 shoot is coming up quick. As per usual nothing really will change as per registration times or shoot start times. Entry Fee is 60.00 per day or 120.00  2days . As always preregistration is available until Wednesday the 23rd . As of now benches 4/5/6/7/14 are taken. I had a complaint from our last shoot I want to pass on to all shooters 1 please insure your muzzle is forward of the front of the bench  2 Pease respect all shooters surrounding  you if you complete your firing before your neighbour is done. In other words sit quietly until cease fire command. These are all just common respect for your fellow shooters . Thank You in advance for your cooperation on these points.

1st off congratulations to Robert on your S/S win. 
 Now on with ORSA business . Our shoot on June 21/22 will be in memory of Robb MacLennan . There will be a cook your own stack dinner following the completion of shooting on Saturday ORSA paying for the stakes. If you can let me know if you plan to eat with us it would be appreciated so we can order proper amount of stakes. This shoot will be the membership payment shoot so add 25.00 to entry fee. Also I will be taking preregistrations up until the Wed. before the shoot NO LATER . Also congratulations to Bill Mitchell on a 15 place finish at S/S. All else remains the same for the shoot as in start times ect.

I spoke with Dave Abbott today he informed me our beloved Robb Maclennan passed away this afternoon. Not only a great shooter but a beloved and respected part of our family I have no details at this point but will relay them when I know. I will say that there was nothing gave me more pleasure in life than not only shooting with Robb but also spending time at his shop or in the basement. I will never replace those memories. The last couple years his fight with health inspired me personally more than anyone will ever know.

We will still be starting registration at 7.30 still 8.45 both days of shoot. To preregister you must contact me before the Wednesday of each shoot weekend . Fees are 60.00 per day 120.00 for weekend so if you are in do not think you are competing both days only pay 1 day. Flag setting can be done on the Friday after I am done setup. I am aware of the conflict of the May shoot and also the Sept.Worlds/ NBRSA Nats. But felt it would be unfair to the group as a whole not to hold our shoot . Hope this finds everyone well .And I wish all a MERY CHRISTAMS and best wises in the new year  Hopfully we will be under a new Goverment this coming year.

Sorry to inform all ORSA shooters That we lost a Fellow member of our community. Dave Krieger passed away November15. I have no details at this time. There will be a celebration of life will be held at a later date . To say Dave was a character would be a understatement of great proportion. He will be missed

We have our last shoot of year coming up Oct. 5/6 . There are no changes to our venue . We will be having a cook your own steak dinner after shooting is done on Saturday. Bench reservation has started Benches 2/4/5/6/7/11 are spoken for. I will take reservations till Oct.3  Please let how ever  is looking after registration Sat. know if your eating with us. Also Stan I know you are coming I will be there. My regular helper is unable to be there this weekend so i am setting up alone .

Just a reminder of the upcoming Sept. 14/15 shoot . Format remains the same LV/HV Bench rotation from 100 to 200. Friday after I get setup range will be open for flag setup. I will reserve benches up to Sept. 12 by e-mail only and this is 1st come 1st served only so get in early. For this shoot only members who have not paid dues will be 145.00 to cover your yearly dues. For the mathematicaly challenged as I am thats 120.00 for 2 days shooting + 25.00 for your dues. We got our targets thanks goes out to George and Vera for ordering and shipping to Holton and also to the people that brought the back.

Just a reminder of the upcoming Score shoot on August 17 2024  Registration starts at 8AM Shooting starts at 9AM . 100yards in morning 200yards after lunch. No bench rotation Classes include Heavy Varmint And Sporting class. Awards to follow completion of shooting and cleanup. Registration Fee will be 60.00 lunch inc.

We are up and running again  Our July 6/7 shoot is a GO. The club is fixing the path . I am not sure what they are doing as of now I have not seen it. Benches 3/4/5/6/7 are taken so if any body else wants to reserve a bench notify me before July 3  . Just to let everyone know Twin City have 4 score shoot Dates if anyone is interested. If anyone wants to shoot on Friday after I am setup thats fine . Just remember the backer is setup and there will be people wanting to set flags so be courteous  to your fellow shooters..

SORRY TO SAY BUT DO TO LOGGING OUT BUSH AND THE WET CONDITIONS HAS CREATED SOME UNSAFE CONDITIONS AT RANGE  THE CLUB HAS REQUESTED THAT I CANCEL THIS WEKENDS SHOOT.. SO SEE YOU IN JULY. PLEASE IF YOU ARE TALKING TO ANYONE LET THEM KNOW.
