I hate to do it but I tend to agree with Bill.  ;) I sure hope the weather is better for the Nationals because I had to move mountains to arrange my schedule around the shoot. Short of the road washing out I'll be there regardless of weather, if only to practice.

Well that sucks!

Sorry I'm going to miss it. Kind of stuck down here in the jungles of Peru at this moment. I'll be home for the Nationals though. Good luck everyone!

I still want to know who has a shooting stool tall enough for that bench???

Thanks Dan. I'm at the airport now and needed the chuckle to lighten my mood.

Nice, peaceful looking spot you have there Calvin.

Damn sorry I missed it guys. I actually flew in on Saturday but arrived a little too late in the afternoon to make it out to the range on time. Perhaps next year Rick. Sorry.  :'(

Dan, have you got that 6.5 up and running?

Yes I do actually. I've only started load development though and at the point in the process where I'm trying to find the accuracy nodes. I haven't even shot any groups yet.

Sorry Rick. Worked till midnight on bathroom renos Saturday night and right back at it early Sunday morning. I had good intentions of coming out but I was in the groove. My reno motivation has been lacking lately so I decided to roll with it. I've actually been doing a lot of shooting lately regardless of weather or temp. I enjoy the colder days as no one ever comes out to shoot and we all like to have the range to ourselves don't we.

Nope just me. Had my ass handed to me today! 100 LV wasn't too bad. Just missed small group by about .020" I think. I shot a .134" but the rest of my groups were in the low 4's and high 3's. 200 was a disaster! Strong gusty winds and those damn berms are hellish! I was lucky to put down a .600. A 1.000 was more my style today. Most times I would miss a condition on two shots and open my group up 1/2" or greater. I was lost to be honest. Oh well I'm having fun, didn't finish last and tomorrow is a new day. Oh and I ordered two "Uppy/Downy flags from Rick Graham today just to use at Tacoma after witnessing what can happen on this range today.

Just a little note from Tacoma. Great practice day today. Blue bird this morning but the mercury read 37 so a little cold. It didn't warm up much, at least in the shade as my nose never quit running. It was probably around 50 in the sun this afternoon. Everyone was giving me a hard time as I shouldn't be such a wimp coming from Alberta.  ::) Great bunch guys as you all know. It was nice to put some faces to the names.

Conditions were tough. Very switchy but there was a prevailing condition I found that would hold for 2 and sometimes 3 shots. We'll find out tomorrow if I truly found my tune or I just got lucky today with some of my 200 yard groups.  :-\

Thanks very much Rick for organizing this clinic. I appreciate the effort you take in promoting Benchrest in Canada and putting together a clinic of this caliber. I truly feel that I walked away today with information and insight that will take me to the next level in my shooting ability. Even though I didn't win the draw for the new barrel, it was a fantastic day.

Centerfire Discussions / stuck primers
« on: March 17, 2012, 06:11:16 PM »
I'm sure we've all had the problem that when we resize our cases the primer gets stuck on the decapping pin and gets drawn back into the primer pocket a little preventing the case from being withdrawn from the shell holder. Talk about frustrating! Is there a clever trick to prevent this? This has happened with my Redding SB die and now my Harrell's die. I've considered filing the taper off at the pin tip hoping it would prevent the tip from getting stuck in the anvil. I'd rather not attempt this until I have a replacement decap rod assembly in case some unforeseen problems arise. Any thoughts? Dan

Hey guys. I'm looking for the tool to remove the firing pin assembly from my Panda bolt. Anyone have an extra laying around?
Thanks, Dan H

Wayne does not have the press anymore. I saw him 2 weeks ago and was informed that it was sold. Good luck with your search.
