Right, Benchmark. Believe it or not, I've never used Benchmark ever but is a powder I've always wanted to. Go figure. Good thing there isn't a powder shortage so I can just hit WSS and buy up a pound or two.  ::) Thanks for the tip.

....that and I'd go with a 14 or 15 twist because Opel and Mitchell sell match bullets around 50g.

Soon I'll be testing N133, N130, H335, H322 and 8208 XBR for powder.

I'm just getting started with playing with my Sako Vixen 22 ppc. One thing I discovered with Lapua brass is that I HAD to neck turn to fit the factory chamber. If I remember correctly an unturned loaded round measured .254" +or- and my fired Sako factory brass measure around .252 or .253. I turned the necks so a loaded round measured .250". One more important detail that can be a show stopper is the ID of a typical bullet seater. Redding's seater for example measures a hair over .250 where the neck slides in. At least my die does. If you don't turn your necks to at least .250" you could be asking for trouble down the road when it comes time to seat your bullets. You'll end up crimping the entire neck into the bullet during the seating process. That's all I've learned so far.

What a great shoot. Berger Bullets did an excellent job hosting this match. As usual the conditions were tough and I had my ass handed to me several times on most targets. I finished well in LV200 so I guess I'll have to continue shooting. :) I hope everyone made it home safely.

I contacted "my guy" at the ATF and he agreed to me emailing him directly. He told me that they always email the processed form if an address is provided. I didn't argue the fact of how wrong he was. What I learned from this is not to put a return fax number in the space provided (even if you have one) and ONLY provide them with your email. Jeff's method obviously works as well.

So this morning I sent in my 6NIA but wasn't too concerned about the usual delay in receiving the application back because my current form 6 doesn't expire until April 13. I sent 2015's application in at 09:44 and received my approved copy back at.....wait for it.......13:40 today! Whoa. If I wasn't so surprised by the outcome I'd be bitching about losing 33% of value from my 2014 form 6. Hopefully the rest of you who haven't submitted your application yet, have the same luck as me. I use both and I have no complaints. However, I have not used anything else in it's class so I have nothing to compare it to.

Unfortunately I can't make it Rick. I'm shipping out this Saturday. Hopefully will see you all at the BRSC SuperShoot.

57
Thanks Rick. It was great weekend. Sure was nice to get my old Sako out again!

58
Sounds good. Even though I don't have a rail, I'll come anyway. It will be good practice. May even shoot the Sako one day for the heck of it.

59
Hey Rick. Did we not shoot HV and UNL in the past? If I'm not at work by then, I'll be there.

I sent mine in Jan 2/14. I called early Feb and again early March and was told it still hadn't been processed. When I returned home April 15th, I called again and was told mine was one of several that was "lost". After emailing my form in, it was returned, approved, within 10 mins. The ATF did inform me that the average wait was now 2 months. Mine took 4 months. That's two years in a row I've had to chase it down.
