I have two Borden Rimrocks both in the BR version ( short )
One in 6PPC for short range benchrest competition, the other in 6BR for long range competition.
They are .308 bolt face and work very well with either 6PPC or .308 case heads.

I start at jam length and work my way back.
Usually end up back at jam length for consistency.
Go figure.

Start with a new piece of brass, say three fire forming shots on it. Increase the load by 1/2 gr. at a time.
If the primer pocket gets loose, back off. Also stiff bolt lift is not good thing, back off.
What powder and load are you running now ? Good bench guns tend to run hotter than book loads.
Nothing wrong with being cautious, it's a great safety feature.

What twist and barrel profile ?

26.9 gr. of what ?  This sounds really light, and may account for the sooty cases.
Try going up in charge weight to the next node, this will probably expand the cases
enough to seal the chamber. Work up to it.

HI,
Turn your necks to achieve a clearance of 1 1/2" to 2 thou. under your chamber neck dimension.
This should be measured by seating the bullet of your choice in the turned neck and then measuring
the outside diameter of the  neck where the bullet base sits.

And darn good shooting by Hugh Williamson.

Way to go Hugh.

Selkirk ran a great shoot, and even the shooters helped out where needed.
Chelsy, thank you for running targets and scoring, great job.
