Government Opening Consultation Period on Banning Handguns and Assault Weapons

The government wants to hear a diversity of views on how to reduce violent crime in Canada and whether a BAN ON HANDGUNS AND ASSAULT WEAPONS would be the best way to address the problem. Public consultation is open until November 10.
Police forces are implying that illegal 'illicit' firearms are coming from legal owners through theft or sales, hence the need to ban legal ownership of firearms in Canada.
