Once again we are pleased to host another BR 101 clinic. You will find attached all the info pertaining as to whom we are looking for.
Last year I took in excess of 30 calls pertaining to range access, I am a new shooter to the range, or I just received my PAL and am new to firearms. I will apologize in advance. That is not why my name was in the club newsletter with all the info pertaining to the clinic. I helped as best I could or forwarded the calls to the appropriate parties.
If you do not meet the criteria as outlined in the letter this clinic is not likely for you. We are looking at growing the sport. We want to get people shooting matches at club levels, maybe travel to other nearby matches, and finally be part of the Canadian World team. If anything shooting at matches makes you a better shooter.
This clinic will introduce you to the basics of the 100/200 yard Benchrest game. It is far from F-Class, Long Range or PRS. There are similarities in that there is a goal. This is a sport about putting 5 shots into the smallest group possible. This is done over 20 targets. If you are not sure if the game is up to you or you know nothing about, stop by the May match in Selkirk to see what the game is about. Last years clinic has introduced and turned 1 student down the Benchrest slope. Everyone who attended said they had their eyes opened up. They advised they had never shot a rifle as accurate as a full blown BR rig.
The state of shooting and reloading is at a bad time but lets be hopeful that things will turn around sooner than later.
In closing, see the attached poster and invite letter for dates, times and the type of people we are looking for. We are limiting space as coaches and equipment are limited. We hope to see interested parties sign up and attend.
Any questions, contact myself at the email or number on the poster.
