Talking with Grant he said how nice it would have been to have more pictures of the people who used to shoot in Selkirk.  Well in my time I have taken a few but decided to take a few more to add some new faces and some old ones as well.  Enjoy.

The match is one for the record books.  This year due to the upcoming BRSC Nationals in Selkirk and a busy August, it was decided to hold the Provincials in July.  One could not have asked for a better weekend.  Temps in the morning were about 22 deg right up to touching 30 deg in the early afternoon.  Humidity, well that stayed in the low to mid 70% range all weekend.  Surprisingly, with the humidity and the torrential downpour late Thursday night the mirage did not appear.  Wind, well that had its moments.  Saturday for 100 yards was pretty dang nice.  Sunday, not so nice.  It was not the gale force wind that we had in May but it was it's usual Selkirk windshield wiper effect winds.  The flags would not settle down for one moment.  If you thought you would get that nice green or orange down the entire length out to 200, wishful thinking.
When the smoke cleared after both days we had a few small groups and a few oopsies.
The smallest of the groups were 3 screamer groups shot this weekend.

The largest of the groups was an unfortunate oops and ended up with a 4" penalty.  Tough day when one forgets to go back up to the record from the sighter.  Sorry Tory.
The story of the weekend as you will see below was the HV 100 clinic put on by Dwayne Cyr.  He was steady in LV 100 but turned it up a notch in the HV.  He shot an impressive .1652 HV agg.  This agg will be submitted to the records committee for verification of a potential new BRSC HV 100 record which I believe currently stands at a .1728. 
Dwayne's .1652 is also the new Selkirk range record which was currently held by Tyler Edmunds of AB .1678

It sounds like you are interested in attending our benchrest match as a participant. If you have previous experience and are well aquatinted with the rules and routines but new to the area, we certainly welcome you.  And if not ? we still would be pleased to have you attend to see what we are all about. In either case, registration is Saturday morning and someone will be available to get you on a bench. If you have not experienced an organized match before, i highly recommend you do as i did. I drove to Elmira Saturday morning and spent most of the day watching. I discovered i was certainly not prepared for the regimented routines of a competitive match and i had been shooting benchrest in my much younger years. During a conversation at lunch, a participant said he had everything available to get me started. A visit later to his home and i aquired a nice Kelbly panda, dies, powder, some brass and loaded shells and assorted bits to get me started. In summary; we would be very pleased to have a new shooter join us for what we believe to be an incredible journey into one of the most challenging and addicting shooting sport there is.

1st night at 100, first set was consistent 15k winds from 1:30 direction, second was tougher with winds starting to calm a bit and swirl. Had a few really good targets, Gene broke the score record with a 246, amazing shooting Gene. Winners in Factory were Lee with the win and Doug right behind him. Unlimited was won by Gene with Dave and Kelly tying for second. Good star for those fellows, a few right on Dave and Kelly's butts.
