Dry fire practice?
« on: December 18, 2022, 02:37:26 PM »
Any concerns with dry fire practice with a 2oz. Jewel trigger?

To expand on my question, being new to BR I would like to spend time during the winter practicing getting the bags set up properly, dry fire, return the gun to position, reload...etc.

With the Jewel trigger being as sensitive as it is, some hands on practice with it would likely be beneficial as well, as long as it's ok to dry fire. With it being so 'delicate', is there an issue with practicing/dry firing with it?

Kelly, the trigger won't be affected. Dry firing a few times is no issue on the firing pin, hundreds of dry firings I would get snap caps that are designed for repeated firing pin impacts. I think Sinclair/Brownells had some brass ones with a little spring loaded impact area.

Kelly. I sent you a post outling my many errors in setup. A mentor can really help in this regard.

I would appreciate any tips, thank you. Not sure if you sent it already? Nothing has come through.

Hi Kelly. Not sure what happened. It was a rather lengthy treatise about practice and the mistakes I made (and still do). A mentor helped me and started me on a track that shortened the learning curve. Once insights are learned, you can start to work toward better results. It was a long note. I guess I pushed a wrong icon. My email is stanwalter1@gmail.com. works better for me.
