The match is one for the record books. This year due to the upcoming BRSC Nationals in Selkirk and a busy August, it was decided to hold the Provincials in July. One could not have asked for a better weekend. Temps in the morning were about 22 deg right up to touching 30 deg in the early afternoon. Humidity, well that stayed in the low to mid 70% range all weekend. Surprisingly, with the humidity and the torrential downpour late Thursday night the mirage did not appear. Wind, well that had its moments. Saturday for 100 yards was pretty dang nice. Sunday, not so nice. It was not the gale force wind that we had in May but it was it's usual Selkirk windshield wiper effect winds. The flags would not settle down for one moment. If you thought you would get that nice green or orange down the entire length out to 200, wishful thinking.
When the smoke cleared after both days we had a few small groups and a few oopsies.
The smallest of the groups were 3 screamer groups shot this weekend.
Dwayne Cyr HV 100 .082
Grant Schick HV 200 .189
Rod Jack HV 200 .193
The largest of the groups was an unfortunate oops and ended up with a 4" penalty. Tough day when one forgets to go back up to the record from the sighter. Sorry Tory.
The story of the weekend as you will see below was the HV 100 clinic put on by Dwayne Cyr. He was steady in LV 100 but turned it up a notch in the HV. He shot an impressive .1652 HV agg. This agg will be submitted to the records committee for verification of a potential new BRSC HV 100 record which I believe currently stands at a .1728.
Dwayne's .1652 is also the new Selkirk range record which was currently held by Tyler Edmunds of AB .1678
