Jack Neary

It is with great sadness I report that Jack Neary passed this morning. Jack was at the shoot taking place at Shelby County this weekend.

For those who didn't know, Jack was a terrific friend to BR shooters in Canada. Not just a friend but a tireless mentor and promoter of all things BR. No matter how bad a shoot he was having or you might be having he could always see the bright side and offer words of encouragement to keep you going.

Hard to imagine how big a loss this is to the BR community. We are surely diminished. My thoughts are with his family and the hundreds, if not thousands, of friends he had made.

Thank you for letting us know Rick. It?s s s almost a shock to hear this as he couldn?t have been that old. Trying to learn and understand more about Benchrest shooting; I watched his many videos that were on YouTube. And I mean over and over again. It seemed it was almost a mission for him to help others develop in this sport. I only met and talked with him once in Canne, but I remember in the evening going up to the benches just prior to the shoot the next morning and he was surrounded by a crowd of folks and they were sure having a good time. I?m sure he is going to be really missed by many shooters. Make every day count! Stan.
