Well we conquered the elements.

Friday wind with gusts to about 80kmh and on and off light rain.  Temps for Saturday and Sunday did not get much above 12 deg C.  Winds though were readable both days but with some weird stuff going on downrange.  Not sure of rifle setup issues or the new intermediate backstops causing all of the grief.  Some had issues Saturday but were able to solve those and end up shooting much better Sunday.  Could not speak for myself, still puzzled.  It was a small turnout.  Well not many shooters left.  Hopefully BR 101 can slowly change that around and a much needed change in our Federal leadership.  Fuel is a real killer right now.

Anyway, Congrats to Dwayne Cyr on his 2 Gun.  Tory Phinn 2nd and I do not how I ended up 3rd.  Until August.......

Finally thanks to Chelsea Schick for running and scoring a great match as usual on her Birthday.  Happy Birthday once again Chelsea.  How old I'd you say you were?  LOL......To Grant and the guys that helped set up, move the target frames thanks.

I weigh.  Throw a grain light and trickle up.

The small gem scale I use at matches gives me enough precision.  I just do not trust throwing charges alone as I just do not shoot enough practice.  If I had the facility to I would definately be shooting more.

BRSC - Benchrest Shooters Canada / Re: Kenora Score Match
« on: May 02, 2022, 10:12:40 PM »
As Lawrence said, despite the snow on the ground and the rain, love shooting Kenora.  Great bunch of guys to shoot with.  Every trip there I never get bored of the drive from Richer thru the Canadian Shield to Kenora.  Truly gods country.

Also to Ron, great shooting.  Slow and steady.  A bit of History of Ron on Friday.  He was practicing and had things dialed in and hitting X's with his PPC.  Dwayne pointed out that it appeared his scope and rings were moving on the bases.  They definately were.  Pulled out his wrenches, reattached the rings, repositioned his Leupold, dialed his scope back in and continued to shoot X's for the win.  Way to go Ron.  Well deserved.

Centerfire Discussions / Re: Loading at a match.
« on: October 21, 2021, 03:04:58 PM »
When it comes to the Short range game, pretty much everyone that shoots a 6PPC in group and wants to be competitive loads at the range.  The only exception would be the 30BR.  That you could basically load develop and shoot that load pre loaded.

I have a couple Harrels throwers, and a couple digital scales.  I throw light by 1 or 2 tenths and trickle up to the weight l want.  You can use a ChargeMaster if you so desire.

Presses, Harrel or Hood or Redding or Rock Chucker.  Ideally the Harrel or Hood.  Small, light and compact.
You can use your sizer and Wilson seater with them.  You can also carry an arbor press for seating.

When loading at the range or matches, it is keeping it as simple and compact as you can using the best equipment you can afford.  MO

I think there are non believers of cleaning that need to watch this.....

The Iosso thing is exactly what Jack and Eric say it is.  I Iosso after every agg when I shoot group with the PPC.  Score with the 30BR, I still clean but maybe after 2 or 3 targets.  You see carbon buildup in it.  Not sure how guys feel they can shoot an entire agg without.  The Iosso wipes the last bit of copper and carbon out.

Any and all of the info pertains to all levels of shooting.

Congrats to Humble Wayne Miller on the 4 gun win.

After careful consideration and discussions with Grant we have decided Selkirk would not be able to host the BRSC Nationals August Long weekend.

Restrictions are loosening but not enough to be able to host a tournament.  Yes they may change in a week or 2 but the current orders announced today are in place until after August long weekend.  We are still in a state of unknowns.  As of today tournaments are NOT allowed.  It is unfortunate but it is what it is.

I will be corresponding in writing to the BRSC secretary our decision to cancel.
