Club Events / Results for 12 april 2026 BR50 (22LR) at Maska rifle club
« Last post by M Ouellet on April 16, 2026, 08:07:26 AM »
Hello.
These are the results of the first BR50 competition at the Maska shooting club, held on April 12, 2026.
The temperature was quite comfortable for an April day, with no rain, cloudy skies, and a fairly steady breeze.
I would like to thank the Maska shooting club for providing its facilities, the volunteers (including those for the line and the marker...), and Jean-Marc Breton for compiling the results.
We were only 11 shooters; several shooters participated in the Ontario provincial championship.
I had hoped to see many new faces, as several people asked for information about this type of contest and expressed interest in participating.
I hope that we will be more numerous for the next competition.
Congratulations to Andr? Morisset for scoring 992 out of 1000 and 51 X.

ORSA - Ontario Rifle Shooters Association / ORSA shoot May 2-3
« Last post by JDoucette on April 15, 2026, 10:07:35 AM »
ORSA's May shoot is a few weeks away! Time to clean that gun and dust off the cobwebs. Depending on our turn out, we may go with one relay, so please plan accordingly.
The club will also be set up for membership renewals on Sat and Sunday. Don't forget that you must submit a renewal application
along with your funds.
Contact Brian to pre register if you haven't already.
See you in a few weeks!!

BRSC - Benchrest Shooters Canada / BRSC Spring Tuneup - Mission - April 11, 12 2026
« Last post by mdumont on April 14, 2026, 03:51:38 PM »
We held this year's shoot in the usual Spring changeable weather conditions - You might say we had 3 sets of weather, one for practice and the 2 days of the shoot.

We had 13 participants, which stretched beyond a single backer and into 2 relays.

As usual, the scoring and target crews provided prompt and accurate service!

Thanks to all who participated, particularly our visitors from Vancouver Island and Alberta.  Also really cool to see Nobby in the thick of the competition.

And finally, thanks to all the shooters who pitched in to help.  It was always easy to fine someone to lend a hand!

Equipment List to follow...

And the results...

BRSC - Benchrest Shooters Canada / Re: Founding member of BRSC passes

There probably aren't too many who remember those shoots at Namaka. I was fortunate to have had a chance to attend a shoot at Namaka and meet some of the participants. I was a very recent transplant to Alberta, but a keen Benchrest shooter in Ontario. A novice to be sure. Setting up a new life in Calgary chewed up my finances pretty quickly and  I sold my rifle. Fully intending to return. One of my great regrets was missing all those years until resuming in 2019. I remember to this day shooting there and the banter amongst the chaps between relays. AL Murdock became a friend and obtained Terry Mcraken's bullets.for me. Almost 50 years ago
I also wish I had not sold that rifle. No internet in those days but a magazine article fueled my interest and led me to a Camillus shoot. Seely Masker built the rifle with all the latest technology.
I guess "when the rubber hits the road", regrets aren't helpful...but the memories are priceless.
I've included some pictures of a 1980 shoot I attended. I found it in the archives of the old monthly Newsletter we recieved. Rick has made these avaliable to us. I guess to view these pics, one needs to touch the heading at the top of this thread. It shows all the participants at that shoot. One of whom is Jim Leeper.
