2026 BRSC Nationals
« on: January 09, 2026, 08:36:55 AM »
I have had a few inquiries re the date.  The planning stages are for Sept 5 & 6, 2026.  That is Labor day long weekend.
Ideally we would have liked August long weekend but it is not in the cards.  Weather in Manitoba is still good in September.  I am aware that it sort of conflicts with the end of the NBRSA Nationals ending the weekend before for those who plan on attending it.  This makes the BRSC Nationals a true ending to the season.  More updates to follow.  Cal

Cal
Are you going to sneak down and shoot NBRSA nationals before BRSC nationals?

Update for those who plan on attending the 2026 Nationals.  It is official.  We have 4 days blocked out for the Nationals.  September 3-6, 2026.

Camping is available for those who so desire as well as room for loading trailers.

Those that plan on attending on their return trip from Holton, there will be provisions for those of you for early access.  We will do what we can to accomodate you as best as we can.

The plan at this time is a BR 101 clinic will be held on the 3rd.  Rick Pollock said they are prepared to host the clinic.

The 4th gives a full day of practice as well as the AGM.
5th and 6th the shoot dates.
7th Labor Day travel home for those who have been away from home for a LONG time.

There has also been inquiries about pre registering.  If you are thinking or planning on coming, just send me a text or email.  Any questions or thoughts call, text, email me at
204-570-1956 or email cyanchyc@live.ca

Until the next update.

Sorry to hear Dan.  Would be nice to see you down.

In other news, yes it is early and 7 months away but we have 20 interested in a max capacity of 28 shooters.

Take note we have added a BR101 Clinic to the Nationals schedule. It will be held the Thursday before the Nationals from 1pm - 5pm.

You don't want to miss this, they are packed full of good information.

Register with Cal or Tory.

Just a heads up and I know things can change before the match.  Life can toss curves at us.

Presently I have 22 shooters who have said they will attend.  We are capping it at 2 full relays which is 28.  If you have not mentioned you are coming, message me at 1-204-570-1956.

I will be sending out an inquiry about mid to 3rd week in August re bench sharing.  Also with me being 3 hours away it is hard to plan a barbecue.  I am wondering thoughts on say making a reservation  at a venue if enough interest.  Please let me know your thoughts.  I was going to maybe check Larters Golf Course if they are free that weekend for a Saturday.  If not, not a big deal.  We will be in touch soon.

As to the BBQ idea, instead why not order about 10 pizzas for Saturday after the matches? Put an extra $20 on the entry fee to cover the costs. It is our experience that taking large gatherings to a restaurant after the matches never works that well. Plus you have 22 people who may or may not be suitable for civilized establishments!

Morning guys.  So far I have the following signed up.  If anything otherwise please let me know.

Hugh W
Rick P
Tyler E
VIC E
Bob R
Doug T
Tim J
Graeme M
William H
Steve H
Mike P
Darren M
Craig M
Mark D
Tony J
Rod J
Cal Y
Curtis P
Tory P
Grant S

If you know of anyone who has not signed up or you cannot attend please let me know via text at 1-204-570-1956.

Those of you who are driving up from NBRSA Nationals and need access to park at the range early, say the Wednesday, let me know.

The shoot is the usual format, no surprises there.

The main thing I am wanting to know, what are the thoughts on hiring a caterer?  Curtis P has contacted Danny's Whole Hog.  For 25.00 we can have pulled pork, slaw, baked beans, potato salad.  The few extras like say desert and rolls will be provided.  Text me your thoughts.  We would have to book ASAP.  This would be on the Saturday after the shoot say 5:30 to sit back and hash out the world's problems.

So please let me know via text or I should say email as well.  Cyanchyc@live.ca

I have been asked about camping at the range as early as Monday.  Just talked with Grant and it will be fine.  Many of you will be away for a while so we want to make it as easy and economical as possible for you that have been away.  If those of you would call me say the day before so I can give more details of where to park that would be great.  I will try and get something drawn up showing where you will be able to park.
