The AB Provincials are in the bag. Help in congratulating Dean Weger as your new Alberta Champion! Way to go Dean. You shot great!

We had a great turnout and numerous out of town shooters as far away as Ont, MB and BC. It was great to have everyone here.

BBQ smokies on Saturday for lunch was courtesy of Gary and his helpers, it was great and added a nice touch to the day.

Many thanks to all our many helpers including Tyler, Vic, Graeme, Brent, and of course the target crew and Keith who did the scoring.

Lastly thanks to the Rosebud Club for providing a terrific venue!

Results posted below.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next year.

Rick

More good news:

We are going to run a cash option for this event, whereby 100% of the funds collected will be returned to the shooters, with a payout to the top 5 shooters in the 2-gun.

Additional Information:

-There will be a BBQ lunch provided by the club on the Saturday right after the LV 100. All are welcome.
-Practice days on Thursday and Friday.
-There will be (2) Relays. If you want to share a bench with someone in particular you need to let me know in advance, otherwise the computer will assign bench sharing during the bench draw.

Thanks Bob. This helps a bunch in planning.

As to the BBQ idea, instead why not order about 10 pizzas for Saturday after the matches? Put an extra $20 on the entry fee to cover the costs. It is our experience that taking large gatherings to a restaurant after the matches never works that well. Plus you have 22 people who may or may not be suitable for civilized establishments!

Rosebud Silhouette & Benchrest Club will be hosting the Alberta Provincials August 8-9th.

This is shaping up to be one of the best attended matches we have ever held. Around 30 shooters are expected, you don't want to miss it.

This will be a traditional 2-gun event with:
LV 100 yards Saturday Morning
HV 100 yards Saturday Afternoon
HV 200 yards Sunday Morning
LV 200 yards Sunday Afternoon

All matches are 5 shot groups.

There will be a range supplied lunch on Saturday.

A reminder to let everyone know you DO NOT need the K Country Park Pass to shoot at Rosebud.

Camping is available, contact me for details.

I would also ask that you contact me to let me know you are coming, that helps plan for helpers and relays if I know how many are attending.

Thanks,

Rick

Club Events / Rob Seemann at IBS Nationals
« on: July 10, 2026, 03:22:32 PM »
All,

I am pleased to annouce that our good friend and mentor to many BR shooters here in Canada has earned two USA Benchrest Hall of Fame points today at the IBS National Championships in Holton, Michigan by winning the LV Grand Aggregate. This gives Rob a total of 11 points as of today and gets him over the threshold of 10 points required to enter the Benchrest Hall of Fame.

No Canadian has ever done this, and nobody outside of the USA has achieved this. Rob has been working like mad to get to this point with a couple of near misses on points in the last few years, but he has stuck with it and has achieved the result he has worked so hard for.

Congratulations to Rob!
